The DC Public Education Fund (DCPEF) is the legal entity through which four donors--the Arnold, Broad, Robertson, and Walton Family Foundations--provided funding to the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), under the conditions specified. Among those conditions is the achievement of specified targets in academic achievement growth. The Executive Director of DCPEF in April 2010, Cate Swinburn, has since been appointed DCPS's Chief of Data and Accountability--the office responsible for calculating achievement growth.
